Gone With the Wind star dies at 76

Fort Bragg, California – The actress who played the child of Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara in the classic film “Gone With the Wind” has died. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Cammie King Conlon, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 76. Conlon, who was four years old when she portrayed Bonnie Blue Butler in the Civil War drama, released in 1939, died after a battle with lung cancer.
As noted in the report, Conlon had a short film career, with her last role being the voice of a character in “Bambi” three years after her “Gone With the Wind” debut.
Conlon is quoted by the AP as stating of her first film experience, “As the years have gone by, I realize it’s an honor, and it’s so humbling… I had nothing to do with it. I was 5. They said ‘Stand here. Do this.’ And yet it’s resulted in this incredible experience.”
