U.S. - A teen looking to make a drug buy accidentally texted a sheriff for the purchase. As reported by the Independent Record, the teen sent a text message requesting $20 worth of marijuana meant for a drug dealer to Lewis and Clark County sheriff Leo Dutton, who subsequently involved the Missouri River Drug Task Force in the matter.
As noted in the report, no citations were issued for the two male juveniles involved in the incident. Dutton is quoted by the Independent Record as stating, “When the detective saw there were parents that wanted to be involved he took the right action and I’m really proud of the deputy…Trying to buy drugs is a crime, but it’s probably worse that they had to face their parents.”
