Washington - Apple’s new music focused social network reached a milestone just 48 hours after its recent launch. As reported by AFP, Ping has surpassed the one million users mark, and is expected to gain significantly more followers in the weeks ahead.
As noted in the report, users can download Ping for free at iTunes.com, and view information about their favorite music artists as well as connect with others online.
Eddy Cue, vice president of Internet services for Apple, is quoted by AFP as saying of the network in a statement released on Friday, “As many more people download iTunes 10 in the coming weeks, we expect the Ping community to continue growing.”
Apple chief executive Steve Jobs is further quoted as stating of it, “It’s sort of like Facebook and Twitter meet iTunes.”
