New York – The replacement for television show host Larry King, whose popular CNN program debuted in 1985, has been announced. As reported by Reuters, British television personality Piers Morgan will replace King following his upcoming retirement at the beginning of next year.
As noted in the report, CNN, who announced King’s replacement on Wednesday, stated that the “America’s Got Talent” judge and former newspaper editor for a British tabloid will begin his hosting duties in January, which will mark an end to King’s 25 years of hosting “Larry King Live.”
Morgan is quoted in the report as stating of President Barack Obama, who he hopes will appear as one of his first guests, “Outside of America, people love him (Obama)…I think he’s an amazing charismatic figure who’s going through a tough time at the moment, and the midterm elections are coming….I’d love to sit down with him and have a frank interview.”
