Los Angeles – The artist whose works were famously depicted on the hit 1980s to early 1990s sitcom “The Cosby Show” has died. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Varnette Honeywood passed away on Sunday in Los Angeles after a long battle with cancer.
Bill Cosby is quoted by the AP as stating of Honeywood’s paintings, “I call her a true depictor of family love…When you see her art, you see someone you know who is exactly like that, and (the works) actually speak to you.”
Cosby, who collaborated with Honeywood on the book series, Little Bill, is further quoted as stating of the legacy of the celebrated artist, “She had a very profound impact on the use and direction of contemporary African American art.”
