Las Vegas – Paris Hilton will reportedly avoid a felony conviction for her recent drug arrest. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Hilton has agreed to a plea deal in which she will enter a guilty plea for two misdemeanors according to a Nevada prosecutor. Under the terms of the agreement, Hilton will reportedly be ordered to complete a program for drug abuse, perform community service, and pay a fine.
Clark County District Attorney David Roger is quoted by the AP as stating of Hilton, “If she is arrested for anything besides a minor traffic violation she will spend a year in jail… There will be no discussion. The court will have no discretion.”
Defense attorney David Chesnoff is further quoted as stating of the terms of the plea deal, “Ms. Hilton understands the seriousness of the situation and appreciates the chance she is being given… She has to stay out of trouble.”
