Los Angeles- A federal judge has declined to hear a wrongful death case filed by the father of the late superstar Michael Jackson. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), U.S. District Judge John F. Walter ruled on Monday that the case had to be heard in state court.
The judge is quoted in the report as stating of the case, “This is a creature of state law, this wrongful death claim.”
Walter is further quoted by the AP as stating of one of the listed causes of action for the case, a purported Americans with Disabilities Act violation, which is stated to be the only federal issue “I am firmly convinced that you can’t seek damages on this (disabilities act) cause of action.”
