New York – A co-star of actress Jill Clayburgh, who passed away on Friday, has stated that he was not aware that she was ill while starring with her in her last film role. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Jake Gyllenhaal, who recently worked with Clayburgh playing her son in the soon to be released “Love and Other Drugs,” remarked that he did not find out until after filming was over that she was battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Gyllenhaal is quoted by the AP as stating of Clayburgh while promoting “Love and Other Drugs” this weekend, “I think part of her sickness is what made her live her life … and really cherish the moments she had and cherish the people she was with… And she did when she was with us, cherish those moments, and they made us all love her.”
