(Hospital Air Filters News) – The top-ranked medical center — renowned for its research and patient care — treated some 52,000 patients and 110,000 emergency room visitors each year. But there was one problem it hadn’t solved — because it didn’t know it had it.

The first pit Camfil Farr 95% Hi-Flo fine fiber bag filters to the hospital’s existing Viledon 95% MF-90 bag filters. The second compared a Camfil Farr 95% Durafil 4V fine fiber V-shaped final filter with a Viledon 95% MV-90 coarse fiber (synthetic electrostatically charged) V-shaped rigid final filter.
In both cases, the test results were clear: real-life use of coarse fiber products resulted in early loss of efficiency. That not only meant that the filters did an increasingly poorer job removing dangerous particles from the air, but that they required more energy to push the air through — which drove up the hospital’s energy bill.
Indeed, after eight months, the Camfil Farr bag filter was at 93% efficiency, while the Viledon bag filter had dropped to 40% efficiency — providing air quality with less than half the cleanliness of the Camfil Farr air filter.
As for the second pair of filters, after just eight weeks, the Camfil Farr product was at 72% efficiency while the Viledon product was at 20% efficiency.
