HOUSTON, TX (WiredPRNews.com) Perform Safe, LLC announced a new ICS-449 Train-the-Trainer class today for private sector. This proprietary course is the first program of its kind because it has been specifically designed and developed to provide practical and relevant Incident Command System (ICS) training to private sector businesses. Classes are currently scheduled for July and August in Sugar Land, Texas. For more information, please refer to www.performsafe.com.
Many private sector companies are still unaware that they are legally required to implement the National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS within their organizations. In addition to EPA and OSHA mandates, ICS adoption is also a requirement for organizations that want to receive Federal preparedness grants or bid on certain Federal contracts. While the Perform Safe ICS Train-the-Trainer course meets and exceeds the objectives, guidelines and assessment criteria as set by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Integration Center (NIC), it is more effective because it focuses on what private sector employees need to do to manage their incidents, strengthen their own emergency management programs, partner with their local responders, and prepare to respond to incidents within their own communities.
The Perform Safe Train-the-Trainer course provides the needed hands-on practice and skill building that companies need in order to implement the NIMS ICS throughout their organizations. The ultimate goal of both the Federal Government and Perform Safe is for private companies to gain the knowledge and confidence to work in Unified Command with government public responders, agencies and organizations during incidents. The Perform Safe, LLC curricula strongly supports the vision and mission of FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Infrastructure Protection.
