In a down economy, Midwest Acquisitions is growing quickly. Through their management training program, they promoted three new managers and expanded into several new markets in 2013. Right now, Midwest Acquisitions is on track to promote three to six more managers by the end of 2014.
Midwest Acquisitions is an in-store marketing and advertising firm with a goal to provide client acquisition services for a wide range of satellite, home entertainment and communications clients. Their clients have a huge presence in some of the world’s largest retailers. Because of their success locally, their clients are pushing Midwest Acquisitions to expand nationwide.
In order to be successful at this they’ve developed a management training program to develop their top people into Executive Level Managers. “We realized that when we invest in our own team members, we create extremely successful managers,” states Manager, Mitch Woods. He continued by saying, “Our management training program develops the skills in team management, communication, time management, team building and gives our people the opportunity to grow and develop within the company.” Midwest Acquisitions has two fundamental rules in their training: 0% seniority and 100% promotion from within the organization, for the right person.
Midwest Acquisition’s manager, Mitch, went to Mankato State University and graduated with a double major in Marketing and Management. He was the soccer captain for two years and his team won the state championship his senior year. Right out of college Mitch started with the company and after only two weeks was promoted into an Account Executive position where he began training to manage. “Right now we are in the process of expanding into Waterloo, Iowa with our newest manager Doug. He came from a Wall Street background in Business Consulting and Financial Planning.”
Clearly, Midwest Acquisition’s training program is not only working, but is exceeding their expectations. They send their top trainers to attend quarterly conferences in Dallas to help develop their skills to set them up for success. When asked about the company’s past success, Mitch states, “The gap between more and enough never closes.”
