With recent research suggesting that many vehicle buyers arrive at a car dealership’s website by first using a Google search, the Abeloff Auto Group is looking for ways provide a personal touch before its customers even visit one of its sites. Drivers who search for Abeloff’s Buick, GMC, Nissan and Kia dealerships in the Poconos region of Pennsylvania will now find 360-degree virtual tours of each facility at the top right of their search results, compliments of Google Business View.
In addition to their Google Search functionality, the virtual tours of Abeloff Buick GMC, Abeloff Kia and Abeloff Nissan will also be integrated into Google Maps and Google+, as well as embedded into each dealership’s website under their “About” sections. Users can check out the extensive inventory outside on the dealership lots, glide through the showrooms to see the latest models flanked by helpful staff or even peek inside a state-of-the-art service center. The Abeloff Auto Group contracted Google Trusted Photographer Dustin Gelegonya of LuxTechnologies, LLC to capture each of the dealerships using Google’s new Business View technology, an extension of Google’s popular Street View Technology.
“We always prefer to greet our customers face-to-face in our showrooms, but we understand that the majority of car buyers are now doing their research online first, so we want to make that experience easier and more comfortable for them,” said Jason Motts, owner of Abeloff Auto Group. “Google Business View lets our prospective customers see what’s waiting for them before they ever step through our doors, and while they’re at it, they can check out the several positive Google reviews from our existing customers.”
A 2011 study from Polk and AutoTrader.com found that more than 70 percent of vehicle shoppers use the Internet for research, and the majority of buyers said the information they found online was the most influential in their purchase decision. Meanwhile, roughly half of the vehicle buyers who visited a dealer website had turned to a search engine first to get there, with Google being the most popular service.
