Wired PR News.com – Twenty-four year-old car scam fugitive, Fadel Eric Assane, was arrested Thursday in Forth Worth. According to the Dallas Morning News, Assane had been charged with conning an estimated 30 people out of their luxury vehicles that had once been listed for sale online.
The victims, who advertised their cars on Craigslist and other Internet mediums, released their vehicles to Assane, who would beforehand respond to their advertisements, after he convinced them that he made money transfers into their bank accounts as payment for them.
Assane was initially arrested in September of this year for theft, and admitted to scamming vehicles from several individuals, after his arrest, but was later released on bail. At the time, he was also on probation. He was found near the town of Euless after being turned in from an anonymous tip to Dallas Crime Stoppers.
Assane had warrants in three different Dallas area counties and is believed to have scammed numerous people over time.
