Wired PR News.com – Dallas Cowboys fans have a chance to own a piece of the team’s history by bidding on memorabilia from Texas Stadium online that is now up for auction. The Cowboys have for over 30 years called the Texas Stadium home, but will soon be making the move to Arlington and settling in a brand new stadium. As reported by NBC 5 News, fans can preserve Cowboys history and take a piece of the old stadium home by visiting http://www.dallascowboys.com/auction.
Several things are now up for sale including shower heads and other bathroom items, benches, lockers, and other things regularly used by the players. As stated in the NBC report by Cowboys’ Director of Merchandising, Jeff Coleman, “That locker’s probably going to be a premium,” referring to a locker utilized by Cowboys alumni Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach.
Still celebrating their win on Sunday, having beaten the Washington Redskins 14-0, the Cowboys remain hopeful that they will be entering the playoffs this season. Therefore, Texas Stadium will be kept as is until it is closer to time for the big move. However, those interested in bidding on items may still visit the Cowboys website to make an offer on memorabilia.
