Lima, Peru is to serve as the meeting grounds for Saturday’s gathering of leaders from various Asia-Pacific nations to help identify means of advancing trade during a time of global economic crisis.
Wired PR News.com –As reported by AFP, President George W. Bush will also receive a farewell bid from Russia and China, as meetings are held to discuss necessary improvements. Representatives from 21 economies are stated to be in attendance.
Last week, a world trade summit was also held in Washington for discussions on repairing the financial system. Saturday’s summit focus is to be on free-trade as a means of helping boost economies that are dealing with slow growth due to the current financial crisis.
The summit will reportedly be the last foreign visit for Bush in his official duties as president before President Elect Barack Obama assumes the role January 20.
