Dozens gathered in the North Texas town of Richardson Friday to pray for India and victims of the recent terrorist attacks and their families. WiredPRNews.com. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the gatherers called for peace to the nation as some lit candles in remembrance of those who lost their lives to the tragic events.
Members of the India Association of North Texas were credited with bringing together the many people of various faiths including, Hindu, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish. People were made aware of the prayer vigil through Dallas radio, word of mouth, and other mediums.
President of the Association, Rajendra Vankawala was quoted as stating “We’re a peace-loving people, and prayers are the only way to achieve that goal…We want to bring peace in the world. Violence is not the answer.”
Members of the Association stated they would collect donations for those affected by the tragedy and assist India in any way they could.
