Illinois Attorney General requests court review of disgraced governor’s competency for remaining in office.
Wired PR News.com – The Illinois Supreme Court has been asked to declare recently arrested governor, Rod Blagojevich unfit, so that he may be removed from office. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the move has been viewed as a measure to place more pressure on Blagojevich, who has yet to resign after numerous calls for him to step down from his post as governor.
Blagojevich has been charged with conspiracy in an attempt to sell the open Senate seat of President Elect Barack Obama. The motion for the high court review of his ability to continue in his position was filed by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. Obama is one of several officials who have publicly called for Blagojevich’s resignation.
