High school students in Dallas are planning to film experiences at Inauguration.
Wired PR News.com – A group of students from a Dallas, Texas high school are preparing to travel to next week’s Inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama, and will bring home more than just fond memories of their experience. As reported by NBC DFW News, the seven Lincoln High School students will document their experience on film.
As noted in the NBC report, the students, each of whom will receive a ticket to the swearing in ceremony, have expressed excitement at the opportunity to be part of the historic event. Student Desmond Richardson is quoted as stating, “I’m so excited, because I’ll be standing right next to him, interviewing, talking about him, taking pictures… I feel so excited.” Ebony McMillan, a junior, is further quoted as stating, “We’re hardly going to sleep… It’s a lot of work. It’s a lot of work.”
The students began making plans for the trip in October and have received an outpouring of support from their South Dallas community for their cause.
The Obama documentary will reportedly be called “Through the Eyes of the Next Generation.”
