A man has requested his donated kidney back from his estranged wife.
Wired PR News.com – A New York man recently went public with his demands for the return of a kidney he donated to his wife in 2001, alleging she cheated on him during their marriage. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the wife of Dr. Richard Batista, Dawnell Batista is denying the cheating accusations, having been quoted as calling them “absurd and ridiculous.”
Reports of Dr. Batista’s demands for the return of his kidney first surfaced last week, prior to the couple’s matrimonial court appearance on Tuesday. Dawnell Batista reportedly filed for divorce from her husband in 2005. The doctor alleged that his wife has denied him visits with their three children, and had an affair approximately one year after her kidney transplant. The two have a tentative trial date in March.
As noted by the AP, legal analysts have expressed doubt that the doctor will receive compensation for his kidney donation.
