Britney Spears is being sued by a former manager.
Wired PR News.com – A former manager for Britney Spears has filed a lawsuit against the pop superstar. As reported by Reuters, Spears’ infamous ex-manager Sam Lutfi is now accusing the singer and her parents of slander and not paying fees he alleges are owed to him. The amount of damages Lutfi is seeking is unspecified.
Lutfi garnered media attention for frequently being at the side of the then troubled pop star in 2007, when Spears’ personal and professional issues were widely publicized. Spears’ father Jaime, obtained a restraining order against Lutfi last week, days before the filing of the lawsuit.
As noted in the Reuters report, in addition to slander, Lutfi is alleging that he was physically attacked by Jaime Spears in January of last year. He is also accusing Britney’s mother Lynne Spears of ruining his reputation with the release of her memoir “Through the Storm,” in which she alleges Lutfi gave her daughter mind altering medications.
Britney Spears released a new album in December and is scheduled to begin a tour this March.
