The Dallas Police Department is seeking the assistance of residents in a crime ridden area to help decrease criminal activity.
Wired PR News.com – The Dallas Police Department is embarking on a new plan for fighting crime. As reported by CBS 11 News, the police department has decided to find recruits from those living in the most crime ridden areas to help combat crime.
The new initiative is set to be launched in a string of apartment complexes where an estimated 20 percent of those who live there are said to be criminals. As noted by CBS 11, the program, called, “10-70-20,” will begin with meetings and surveys to garner support to catch a higher number of criminals in the act.
Levi Williams of the Dallas Police Department is quoted in the report as stating, “When somebody says we got a high rate of burglaries, we’re just not out there when they’re not burglarizing cars. We’re out there at a time when the citizens say this is best time to be here.”
