An increasing number of parents in Dallas are seeking the services of extended hour childcare centers.
Wired PR News.com – A growing number of Dallas area parents now require the services of child care facilities later in the evening or at night. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, more and more child-care providers have recognized this need among parents who have had to take on second jobs or work longer hours due to tougher economic times, and have extended their hours of operation to accommodate families.
Some childcare facilities throughout Dallas have made their businesses 24-hour operations. Linda Smith of the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies is quoted in the Dallas News report as stating, “Based on the data we have from around the country, the typical program is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., but a lot of parents don’t have these hours… With the economy the way it is, we find that parents who do work, frequently work fewer hours or have erratic schedules, which means they need providers that are going to be more flexible.”
