The CEO of an American Muslim television network has been accused of decapitating his wife.
WiredPRNews.com – A prominent New York man has been accused of beheading his wife. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Muzzammil Hassan, CEO of Bridges TV, has been charged in the slaying of his wife, Aasiya Hassan, last week. Although authorities have not commented on a motive, some are speculating that the death may have been a type of honor killing, which has been found to occur in some countries like the Hassan’s native Pakistan. Aasiya Hassan filed for divorce from her husband days before she was killed.
As noted in the AP report, the Hassans founded Bridges TV to help combat stereotypes of Muslims in America. Paul Moskal, who is said to have become friendly with Muzzammil Hassan and his wife, is quoted as stating of Hassan, “His personal life kind of betrayed what he tried to portray publicly.” Officers reportedly responded to domestic related issues concerning the couple on more than one occasion.
Hassan is set to appear Wednesday in court for felony charges.
