The rap star is set to stand trial in April.
Wired PR News.com – Chart topping rap star Lil Wayne will soon be heading to court. As reported by E! Online, the Grammy winning hip hop star is set to stand trial April 20 for charges stemming from a gun found after a tour bus raid in 2007. Lil Wayne, whose full name is Dewayne Michael Carter Jr. is alleged to have been illegally carrying a gun while traveling to a concert event aboard the tour bus during that time.
As noted in the E! Online report, if convicted on criminal weapons possession and criminal possession of a loaded weapon charges, the rapper could face up to 15 years in prison. Lil Wayne is currently free on $70,000 bail.
In light of his current legal trouble, the 26 yea-old has rescheduled the release of his upcoming album from April to May.
Lil Wayne received four Grammy Awards earlier this month.
