Governor Jindal defends his highly criticized GOP response to Obama’s Congressional address.
WiredPRNews.com – In the week following his GOP response to President Barack Obama’s speech to Congress, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal sought to defend his message after receiving widespread criticism. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Jindal stated on Monday, “Look, I get that people thought I could have spoken better. I get that. That’s fine … What’s important to me is the content. I’m a policy guy. You guys know that. I’ve always been a policy guy, always will be a policy guy. The ideas are important. The substance is important.”
Jindal heavily criticized the economic stimulus package of the president citing it is full of excessive spending. As noted by the AP, some call the Governor’s criticism hypocritical due to his continued efforts to obtain funding for Hurricane Katrina recovery.
