The recession is expected to have a gloomy effect on this year’s Game Developers Conference.
Wired PR News – The Game Developer’s Conference scheduled for this week is expected to be impacted by the economy. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), many anticipate that the dark cloud of the recession will be a focal point for many in attendance of the event in San Francisco.
The conference is viewed as a medium for many who may be looking to display innovative ideas, gain knowledge or skills, or even find employment. The director of the event, Meggan Scavio, is noted to expect attendance to be lower this year than last year’s audience of 18,000 people.
As noted by the AP, despite the recession, the video game industry overall has managed to see continued success due to many turning to gaming for a less expensive form of entertainment.
