As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Euna Lee and Laura Ling, both detained on March 17, have been accused of “suspected hostile acts” according to a state run news resource, The Korean Central News Agency.As quoted by the AP, the agency’s report released Tuesday includes the statement, “The illegal entry of U.S. reporters into the DPRK and their suspected hostile acts have been confirmed by evidence and their statements,” although specific details regarding the alleged hostile acts committed or the anticipated trial date were not released.Laura Ling is the sister of National Geographic Channel correspondent Lisa Ling. She and Lee were reportedly conducting interviews on individuals living in border areas.North Korea is currently at the center of controversy due to attempts to test missile technology despite prohibitions by the U.N.
