Dominos Gives Away Free Pizzas Due to Online Glitch

The company gives away approximately 11,000 free pizzas due to a promotion error.

Wired PR News – Dominos Pizza recently gave away 11,000 free pizzas by accident. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the pizza giant ended up giving away the mass number of pies due to a promotion code one online customer found that the company had not placed into effect.

A spokesperson for Dominos, Tim Mcintyre, is noted in the report to comment that the company had created an Internet coupon for a marketing campaign last year; however, they never activated it. The web customer reportedly used the promotion code “bailout” to obtain a medium pizza with his online order, after discovering the never used code word. Word soon spread about the code throughout Monday, with numerous customers using it to obtain free pizzas.

The promotion was deactivated by Dominos on Tuesday.
