NASA is set to announce the name of its new space station room on “The Colbert Report.”
Wired PR News – NASA will reportedly announce the name of its new space station room on “The Colbert Report.” As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the international space station announced Friday that Astronaut Sunita Williams will appear on funnyman Stephen Colbert’s Comedy Central program on Tuesday.
As noted by the AP, Colbert’s name won a NASA sponsored contest designed to engage the public in the naming of a new room to be added to the space station. The comedian enticed viewers of his program to submit his name as a write in, which led to his beating out options suggested by NASA by thousands of votes.
Colbert is quoted in the AP report as stating of the impending final decision, “I certainly hope NASA does the right thing. Just kidding. I hope they name it after me.”
