The queen reportedly registered on the site to mark the Pope’s first visit to the Middle East.
Wired PR News – Jordan Queen Rania Abdullah set Twitter abuzz on Friday to comment on the Pope’s first visit to the Middle East. As reported by AFP, Queen Rania was said to register with the popular social networking website to mark the first Arab country pilgrimage of Pope Benedict XVI’s, who began his Holy Land tour on Friday.
Rania is quoted as stating in one of her “tweets”, “Just choppered to airport to receive the Pope. Husband piloting, he got acrobatic to quiet butterflies in stomach… told u he was action man.” She further remarked in another message, “Just listened to Pope’s speech. Our region so needs a message of Peace.”
As noted in the AFP report, the queen has been known to use online social networking mediums before, with the launch of a YouTube channel dedicated to combating Muslim and Arab stereotypes.
