Chrysler will reportedly fire 800 dealers on Thursday.
Wired PR News – Chrysler is reportedly set to cut hundreds of dealers Thursday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the company will fire a projected 800 dealers in accordance with their restructuring plans.
Kathy Graham, a spokesperson for the company, is quoted by the AP as stating, “We do not have any finalized list as of this point in time… It’s too early for us to say. We’re not through that process yet.”
David Kelleher, owner of two Philadelphia based Chrysler dealerships is quoted in the report as stating of the possible mass dealership cuts, “This is craziness… You’re talking about 800 or 1,000 small-business owners being knocked out of business, I guess to serve the greater good.”
As noted in the report, Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 at the end of April.
