The major Hollywood studio gives top production executives the axe.
Wired PR News – Paramount Pictures has let go of two of its top executives. As reported by Reuters, the major Hollywood studio has fired Paramount Film Group President John Lesher and production president Brad Weston; however, no reason has been announced by the company for the changes.
As noted in the report, the studio’s recent comedy with Eddie Murphy, “Imagine That” proved a disappointment at the box office last weekend, earning only a fraction of what it cost to make. Paramount is stated to have experienced a struggle in getting a boost from projects that are not co-produced with other major studios, despite the North American success of some of its latest films like “Star Trek.”
As further noted by Reuters, Lesher will reportedly be replaced by Adam Goodman, who was formerly the production chief for DreamWorks.
