The father of a baby abandoned in Dallas has reportedly won custody of the child.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – The father of an abandoned Dallas baby is reportedly set to get custody of the child. As reported by CBS 11 News, William Bynum appeared in court on Tuesday to gain custody of the child caseworkers referred to as Baby Bella, after the mother abandoned her last month.
As noted in the report, Angela Castro, 33, who also appeared in court Tuesday, was charged with child endangerment after the baby was found abandoned with her umbilical cord attached to her.
Bynum reportedly stated he was not aware of Castro’s pregnancy, but had suspicions before she gave birth. As noted in the report, he is set to get custody following a psychological exam and doctor’s appointment with the child.
Marissa Gonzales, a spokesperson for CPS is quoted by CBS 11 as stating, “We certainly love to have cases where the father comes forward and steps up and takes responsibility of his child… We know there are extended family members that care about this baby as well, so that’s showing a very bright future for her.”
