Edinburgh, UK (15 July 2009) (WiredPRNews.com) – An Edinburgh guitar tutor is gearing up for the biggest gig of his life – performing in-front of Simon Cowell and the judges for the next series of Britain’s Got Talent.
Twenty-eight year old Stewart Whitson, of Portobello, eased through the preliminary application and audition process to secure the performance of a lifetime, playing in front of the Britain’s Got Talent judges later on this year for a chance to progress to the latter stages of the competition.
Following in the footsteps of fellow-Scot Susan Boyle, Stewart is keen to demonstrate his skills and prove to the judges he has what it takes to perform at the Royal Variety Show in 2010.
“I’m over the moon to have passed the first audition stage, and can’t wait to play in front of Simon Cowell. This is the result of years of hard work, and the chance to perform on a massive, global stage would be a dream come true.”
Everyone Stewart knows will be cheering him on for the audition later this year, including the music school with whom he teaches.
Stewart Douglas of Edinburgh Music Lessons (www.edinburghmusiclessons.com) said:
“Losing Stewart to international stardom would be a shame for both Edinburgh Music Lessons and his students, but we’re all fully behind his bid to wow the judges, and we’re more than confident he will blow them away with his ability.”
“Stewart is an excellent guitarist and tutor, and I know he’s going to do well come his audition. Move over Susan Boyle – it’s time for Stewart to show the world what he’s made of.”
A graduate of the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, Stewart is an experienced musician and popular guitar tutor, teaching lessons to students of all ages and abilities across Edinburgh.
The next round of auditions will take place in November of this year, to be televised early next year.Contact: Stewart Douglas
