As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the arrests included those of rabbis, three area mayors, and other city officials accused of crimes in connection to the trafficking of kidneys and imposter Gucci hand bags on the black market, and laundering millions of dollars in operations between New Jersey, New York, and Israel.
Ed Kahrer with the white-collar and public corruption division of the FBI is quoted by the AP as stating, “New Jersey’s corruption problem is one of the worst, if not the worst, in the nation…Corruption is a cancer that is destroying the core values of this state.”
