Press Release Service – Wired PR News – General Electric Co. responded Wednesday to accusations recently made about the company on a Fox News Channel program. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), GE labeled comments made by Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly on his show, which suggested the company provided materials for terrorists to make bombs used on American soldiers, as malicious and irresponsible.
Gary Sheffer, a spokesperson for GE, is quoted by the AP as stating of the report, “We usually do not respond to the misleading and inaccurate claims made on this program because very few people take them seriously… but tonight’s report took this smear campaign to a new low.” GE is the parent company of Fox News Channel rivals MSNBC and NBC News.
As noted by the AP, MSNBC program host Keith Olbermann responded to the accusations as well naming O’Reilly to his list of “worst persons in the world” on Tuesday.
