Famed Photographer Leibovitz’s Massive Debt

Annie Leibovitz may lose the copyright to her famous images if millions in debt is not paid.

Press Release Service – Wired PR News – One of the nation’s most celebrated photographers is at risk of losing the copyright to her famous images. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Annie Leibovitz, whose photos are notorious covers for magazines such as Vanity Fair, is embroiled in a lawsuit that may cause her to lose the copyright to her works if $24 million in loans is not paid by Tuesday.

Montieth Illingworth, a spokesman for New York based company Art Capital Group is quoted by the AP as stating of the suit, “We have clear contractual rights and will protect them in any scenario… Our preference is for this to be resolved.”

Matthew Hiltzik, a spokesman for Leibovitz, is further quoted as stating of the matter, “Annie is working to resolve the situation so it would be inappropriate to comment.”
