The actor wins case against seller of horse.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Actor Tom Selleck has been awarded a judgment in a lawsuit against the seller of a horse. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), a jury in a San Diego court awarded Selleck $187,000 for being conned into purchasing a lame horse he believed to be a show horse.
As noted by the AP, the suit alleged that Del Mar equestrian Dolores Cuenca attempted to pass off 10 year-old horse Zorro, who purportedly has a medical condition, as one fit for competitions. The sum awarded is for purchase and boarding costs. A separate trial is reportedly set for next week to determine the amount of punitive damages appropriate for the case.
Selleck starred in the popular 1980s television series, Magnum, P.I. in addition to several other TV and film projects.
