A reward has been offered for the return of stolen Andy Warhol paintings.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Several paintings by art icon Andy Warhol have reportedly been stolen from the home of an art collector. As reported by Reuters, the artwork collection, purportedly worth millions of dollars, were taken from Richard Weisman’s home in Los Angeles while he was away.
Other Warhol paintings were also reportedly in Weisman’s home, that were left behind. Those included in the stolen collection were said to have been the only items taken.
As noted in the report, the stolen collection includes paintings depicting famous athletes such as Muhammad Ali, Dorothy Hamill, and O.J. Simpson. A reward in the amount of $1 million has reportedly been offered for their return.
Andy Warhol is regarded as a leader in the visual art movement, better known as pop art. He passed away in 1987.
