A former Notre Dame worker is sued after spending thousands of dollars the school said was given to her by mistake.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – A former University of Notre Dame worker is being sued by the school for spending a massive tip purportedly given to her by mistake. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Sara Gaspar was given a $29,387 tip after being paid for catering work in April.
As noted by the AP, Notre Dame attributes the large tip dispersion to a typing mistake, and filed a lawsuit against Gaspar in August. The university reportedly realized the issue in May, and demanded Grasper repay the money, but it had already been spent.
Gaspar is quoted by the AP as stating in court documents of the matter, “If this was a mistake it was their mistake… Now I am paying for their mistake.”
