The estate of celebrated opera singer Beverly Sills has been placed up for sale.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – The estate of Beverly Sills, a celebrated opera singer and former general manager of the New York City Opera, has been put up for sale. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Sills’ estate will be auctioned off by Doyle New York auction house next week, and will include jewelry, costumes, and artwork that belonged to the star.
Sills, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, retired from singing in 1980 after enjoying a successful career as an operatic soprano for approximately two decades. Included on the list of her most famed roles are the titles in Lucia di Lammermoor and Manon, Marie in La Fille du Régiment, and Violetta in La Traviata.
As noted by the AP, Sill passed away in 2007 at the age of 78.
