Shanghai (WiredPRNews.com) – President Barack Obama discussed global warming, and universal freedoms with Chinese leaders during his recent visit to Asia. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the president met with President Hu Jintao to discuss global issues such as climate change and suggested the country shared a “burden of leadership” with the U.S.
Obama is quoted in the report as stating prior to his meeting with Hu that he hoped it would be “a meeting of the minds between myself and President Hu about how together the United States and China can show leadership.”
Obama is further quoted by the AP as stating to students during a town hall style meeting in Shanghi, “I will tell you, other countries around the world will be waiting for us… That is the burden of leadership that both of our countries now carry.”
