The Senate passed a $1.1 trillion spending bill Sunday.
Washington, D.C. (WiredPRNews.com) – The Senate has passed a $1.1 trillion spending bill. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the 1,000 plus page bill was passed on Sunday and will next be sent to President Barack Obama for signing.
As noted by the AP, the bill includes budget outlines for health, education, government, and other program spending areas. The measure was supported by an overwhelming majority of Democrats while only three Republicans in the Senate voted in favor of its passage, citing it included wasteful spending.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is quoted in the report as stating following the Senate vote, “Every bill that is passed, every project that is funded and every job that is created helps America take another step forward on the road of economic recovery.”
