Hawthorne, CA, (WiredPRNews.com) — Christopher Rudolph, a Language Arts and U.S. History teacher, has been sharing his didactic poetry, songs, raps, and chants that teach about English grammar, persuasive writing, history, math, and test taking skills. His latest song is called “Presidents Song.” This song helps students memorize the order of the United States Presidents from Washington to Obama. Throughout the country many students are expected to learn the order of the Presidents. “I wanted to come up with a song that would really stick in their minds and make it easy for them to remember,” he said.
History teachers around the country challenge students to memorize the order of the Presidents because it helps to create a strong foundation of knowledge upon which more historical knowledge can be constructed. “The mind is incredible. The more you know. The more you can know. Knowledge builds upon knowledge. I think every U.S. History student should know the order of the U.S. Presidents. All Americans share a common history, and the men that have led our country deserve to be remembered by all of our nation’s children,” he said.
Learning the order of the U.S. Presidents with a song is easy compared to trying to learn the order of the Presidents without some kind of didactic tool. “The ‘Presidents Song’ provides the missing key to help students master the order of the United States Presidents,” he said. The song is broken into six parts or stanzas. Students should try to learn one part at a time until they have learned all six parts.
To facilitate the learning process, there is also a United States Presidents Word Search, United States President Crossword Puzzle, and a MP3 File of the “Presidents Song” that can be downloaded from http://www.PresidentsSong.com
