Herndon, Virginia (WiredPRNews.com) — GigaTrust, the market leader in Enterprise Rights Management (ERM) content protection software solutions that enhance and extend Microsoft’s Rights Management Services (RMS), today announced product support, via its patented receiver technology, to RMS secure JT™ data format files from and within specific Siemens PLM Software applications.
The JT™ data format was developed and is supported by Siemens PLM Software and has been globally adopted throughout the PLM industry. Last year the JT reference document became the world’s first ISO publication for 3D visualization in the PLM domain, reinforcing the use of JT as an open standard for lightweight 3D visualization in hundreds of products including Siemens’ own Teamcenter® software, the world’s most widely used PLM system.
GigaTrust is now offering RMS native application support for the JT format along with two Siemens PLM Software products: Teamcenter Visualization, the industry leading 3D visualization and collaboration solution, and JT2Go, the no-charge downloadable viewing software for JT files. This will facilitate the ability for organizations to implement increased content security within and beyond the enterprise, after the content has been delivered and while it’s being used. This means Siemens PLM Software applications will be able to output and view persistently protected (at rest, in transit, when viewed) JT files directly to and from the applications through the seamless use of GigaTrust’s receiver technology.
“Siemens PLM Software has always worked closely with our customers to help ensure they can protect their intellectual property associated with our software products”, said Rich Ramsey, vice president of Partner and Components Marketing, Siemens PLM Software. “Together with valued partners like GigaTrust, we are continuing that tradition by offering rights management support for JT.”
Built exclusively on Microsoft’s RMS platform, GigaTrust’s Intelligent Rights Management solution is a set of client and server software that enables an organization to persistently secure important content in the native application. With GigaTrust, individual authors, as well as PLM systems, have the ability to further increase protection of assets beyond the enterprise. Security can be implemented after the critical data has been delivered, opened and used on a global basis throughout the lifetime of the content.
“Users of Teamcenter Visualization will now be able to persistently protect their intellectual property no matter where and how it travels,” said Darryl Worsham, Vice President of Business Development and Partner Products at GigaTrust. “According to the Aberdeen Group, CAD clients are demanding this kind of technology – Digital Rights Management (DRM) is projected to grow from 13% adoption in 2008 to 48% of adoption by the end of 2010.”
GigaTrust indicated support for the JT file format and JT2Go viewer is generally available now with Teamcenter Visualization support being available in the later part of Q2, 2010.
