Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A program designed to address the issue of bullying from two perspectives has been implemented in Richardson. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Neighborhood Youth and Family Counseling of Richardson seeks to assist victims and offenders with overcoming this type of problem utilizing a “positive psychology” approach.
Counselor Mark Demos is quoted in the report as stating of the need to focus on those doing the bullying as well as their victims, “These are the kids who can be taught about how to be resilient in life… You can’t just tell them they’re a good person. Let’s figure out what that evidence is – excelling in academics, sports, youth group.”
