A recent study shows a combination of bad habits can age people by 12 years.
Chicago (WiredPRNews.com) – A recent study shows some bad habits can age people by over a decade. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the study, which followed approximately 5,000 adults over the course of 20 years, showed that a combination of smoking, execessive drinking, an unhealthy diet, and lack of sufficient activity can age an individual by about 12 years.
Lead researcher Elisabeth Kvaavik of the University of Oslo is quoted by the AP as stating of being grouped into a healthier category, “You don’t need to be extreme… These behaviors add up, so together it’s quite good. It should be possible for most people to manage to do it.”
More information about the study may be available in Archives of Internal Medicine published Monday.
