A website that allows anonymous gossip posting has increased in popularity among college students.
Fort Worth, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A website which provides a platform for college students to post anonymous messages about others is increasing in popularity, as reported by CBS 11 News. Most of the comments displayed on the site, College ACB, are reportedly viewed to be negative in nature, with many posters adding vulgar comments about their peers.
TCU senior Curtis Clay is quoted as stating of the site, “There’s nothing really positive on the website… so it can damage your reputation, even if it’s false.”
Another college student, Jessica Anderson, is further quoted as stating of her views about the site, “You get a certain age and it’s like, it’s time to grow up and stop gossiping about people.”
Numerous complaints have reportedly been received about the website by the TCU student government association, which is now advising students to not utilize it.
