A march in Dallas is set for Saturday in protest of an immigration law recently passed in Arizona.
Dallas, Texas – (WiredPRNews.com) – A march has been planned for Saturday in protest of an immigration measure recently signed into law in Arizona. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the march is scheduled for 1 p.m., and will begin at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe on Ross Avenue.
The Arizona law gives police the authority to question individuals they suspect to be illegal immigrants. Many have expressed concerns that it opens the door for racial profiling and other social issues, and may be replicated in other states. University of Texas at Arlington senior Jennifer Cortez is quoted in the report as stating, “Today it is Arizona… Tomorrow, what other state will try to pass this legislation?”
