Five students from the Dallas area have been named Presidential Scholars for the arts.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Five students from the Dallas area have been given a coveted national award for their artistic achievements. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the five students are included in the list of 20 winners of the Presidential Scholars in the Arts award nationwide, with 8 total being from Texas this year.
As noted in the report, the five students include two from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Austin Goodwin and Ida Saki, Austin Taylor and Connor Watumull of St. Mark’s School of Texas, and Arlington home schooled student Michael Taylor.
The winners will reportedly showcase their work June 20 at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and perform the following day at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
